Yom Teruah gather together to celebrate a Day of Shout.
When you hear the pleasant sound of the Shofar it's a call to Yah. A call for those that have a ear to come to Yah. The Watchman would blow for the New moon so people would know this is the day of the Feast to come to Yah. And the Watchmen would blow it warning Yah's judgment for the people to come to Yah.
