What are you reading for spiritual and personal development, for fun, or for educational purposes? Or what podcasts are you enjoying for the most part?
I'm reading:
1. "Jeremiah" Bible with family (Really enjoying this round of the complex assignment of the prophet Jeremiah... Not much has change concerning the character of Israelites... One of our daughters asks "what do we say at the end of this one" when the chapter doesn't end on a high note... I tell her... sometimes we just have to say "Have mercy and HalleluYah" anyway.)
2."Essentials of Our Faith: Looking at Our Responsibility" by More Orlando Rodriguez (It's a reflective and interactive workbook using more Scriptures and precepts than commentary.)
3. "Authoritative Declarations & Prayers That Destroy Demonic Influences: Receive Your Freedom Now!" by Moreh Orlando and Morah Melissa Rodriguez. (Very thought provoking and humbling, yet powerful prayers about various aspects of our lives as children of The Most High. I have to pace myself with this one because it's not a game to rush through. Spiritual transactions are not to be entered into lightly because their impact is multigenerational. This is a very impactful book, written by Hebrews walking the walk for real. Definitely worth it. Our young adult children are gleaning from it as well.)
4. Listening to an audiobook called, "I Thought It Would Be Better Than This: Rise From Disappointment, Regain Control and Rebuild a Life You Love" by Jessica N. Turner (I didn't know what this book was about until I started listening. It's about dealing with various forms of grief such as death, divorce, and other losses. The author is / was some kind of Christian and after 16 years of marriage her husband decided to embrace homosexuality. It's a heartbreaking story. She shares her story and some of the steps she took to not be fully destroyed by grief as her life and self-image seemed to fall apart. I'm not finished with this one yet, however, so far, she does offer some very useful tools that I believe would be beneficial to those who want to overcome the disappointments that come when life isn't what you hoped it would be. This is primarily a secular book but of course there are unlabeled biblical principles in the book. I could think of so many Psalms and Proverbs that could apply. So far, it may be worth checking out if you are processing drastic changes...new or old. After, personally losing both parents, aunts and uncles and dear friends, this is useful for my adjustments to Yah's will.)
Just sharing... Have a whole day.
