We should always ask ourselves what we can do to show our light. After all, we must obey God's commandments in every facet of our lives. Family, friends, and co-workers become curious and may emulate our words and actions. Food for thought... How do you show those around you that you trust and obey God?
The Book of Judges sheds light on one of the least prominent women in the Torah.Ch 17 tells us Micah's mother (not the same Micah the prophet) was dishonest, disobeyed the commandments, and ignored her family's sinfulness. From my perspective, she may not want to make waves, so she was complicit in her family's sin. v.6 tells us, 'but every man did what was right in his own eyes.".
