What are everyone's thoughts on water Baptism? Do you need to be baptized to get the Holy Spirit? Who is qualified to Baptize people? Should you be baptized in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit or baptized in the name of Yahusha Ha'maschiach?
Tzuriyah
This tells me that salvation has two parts: belief AND baptism. In Romans 10:8 the Apostle Paul writes that belief and public confession of that belief are enough, alone. That's what I was taught growing up. Baptism wasn't for salvation, but to join the church. And that's the position that most so-called Christians hold onto today because, in practice/reality, they esteem Paul above HaMaschiach. But, Pauline worship is a topic for another day. I believe what HaMaschiach said out of his own mouth, point blank period.
I also am convinced that baptism should be done in the name of Yahoshua HaMaschiach. Gino Jennings and a prophetess named Tzibiyah both teach that baptism is to be done in the name of Yahoshua HaMaschiach. They both do a great job of explaining why, but Tzibiyah goes deep deep and can make your brain melt. Pastor Jennings is a Christian so he calls HaMaschiach by the name Jesus, even though he knows better. Both of these teachers are controversial in different ways, but their BIBLE STUDY is on point IMHO. Bible-based, straight-with-no-chaser; it say what it say and it do what it do!
Besides not having random people baptizing folks, I'm fuzzy on the qualifications for the baptizer so I can't speak to that. I got dunked 3 times before age 21, in the name of the trinity, at the mainline Christian churches I attended growing up because they wouldn't recognize each other's baptisms. All the pastors had all the qualifications that their denomination required, so no thought was given to the suitability of the baptizer. I can't wait until I get the opportunity to be baptized in the name of HaMaschiach. I'm about ready to go dunk myself (kidding!), LOL. 🤣
* Living water is water that is not confined to a pool or baptismal font and is allowed to flow or follow its natural course. A river, lake, or the ocean are all examples of living water. It used to be the standard way of being baptized in the Black church until relatively recently.
