My Dominican bestie way back in the day, used to call me Negrita. I used to say, what are you trying to say willis? (LOL), It was a word of endearment. But yeah, that's how I discovered we do have Israel Spanish speaking family. Also, when I traveled to Europe, I encountered my first black Cubans (they were musical artists). They also shared some nuggets that opened my eyes. I started seeking the truth as opposed to their narrative.
