Some are mercilessly mocking the unlearned ones who were looking for a rapture to take place. I get it. You would think by now we'd be over false prophets by now. I feel for the sincere intentioned hearts that fell for the deception, while I also acknowledge that The Most High laughs at the foolishness of the peoples. But the more I was pondering that and being conflicted by some very tickling posts, it dawned on me that some people treat the Moed of the Day of Atonement with similar urgency and panic. I get it. I was raised to expect the return of J.C. everyday. Well, a lot like the Rapturist, people who have hurt people leave their victims to process their pain for days and even months while they go on their way until they prepare for the Day of Atonement as if unrepentant gestures towards forgiveness are acceptable. Let's not forget that some people owe restitution... When are we going to bring that part to the Moed panic-induced apologies that flood posts and phones? I'm just saying that sometimes the other folks look pretty dumb to us doing the things we do too.
Stay humble. Don't just wait for a yearly appointment (Holy Day) to get things right. I wonder if reconciliation is harder to come by during the holy apology season because the offended knows the apologies aren't initiated by true concern for them, but so the offender can have a clear conscience when keeping the feasts and appointed times with YHWH. I wonder. Another thing is, sometimes people are already forgiven without the apologies because the offended had to grow pass the offense because the next moment isn't promised. They couldn't wait so long. Anyway, my point is sometimes we're the pot calling the kettle black. When we purposely or carelessly offend, discount others, viciously slander others, or break covenants , etc., The Most High will laugh at us as well. I'd prefer that He rejoices over me. Self examination is good. It's required. Self abuse is not. The promises of YHWH are SURE. We tend to take extremes when we're listening to people more than the Word and the Holy Spirit.
