The 10 spies that saw the land gave the sons of Yisrael a bad report, which caused them to complain and see that if they went into the land, they would die. Caleb was able to quiet the sons of Yisrael for a moment to hear the Word of Yah and possess the Promised Land. They saw the bad report over the blessing of Yah. This whole group, the 10 leaders and the congregation, didn’t make it into the Promised Land, dead in the wilderness. Listen to what they said:
“If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has Yah brought us to this land to fall by the sword that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” So, they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.” (Nu 14:2–4)
They wanted to elect a new leader who would lead them back to Egypt over a leader who would lead them into the Promise of Yah. The bad report was so bad that they thought it would have been better to die in Egypt or the Wilderness. The men were thinking that they would be killed. The abuse in Egypt was better than their present condition. “We had it better with Jesus than Yeshua.” WOW!
