As an igbo man myself, this history hits home! It’s so very important to know what our brothers and sisters in the Homeland also went through.

Attacked by the Fulani Edomite alliance with the British, and sadly a passive Yoruba tribe of Ephraim… The Igbo Nation were the only Israelites to stand up against Edomite dominance and oppression.

II Esdras 5:23-30, 40-41a
23And said, O Lord that bearest rule, of every wood of the earth, and of all the trees thereof, thou hast chosen thee one only vine:

24And of all lands of the whole world thou hast chosen thee one pit: and of all the flowers thereof one lily:

25And of all the depths of the sea thou hast filled thee one river: and of all builded cities thou hast hallowed Sion unto thyself:

26And of all the fowls that are created thou hast named thee one dove: and of all the cattle that are made thou hast provided thee one sheep:

27And among all the multitudes of people thou hast gotten thee one people: and unto this people, whom thou lovedst, thou gavest a law that is approved of all.

28And now, O Lord, why hast thou given this one people over unto many? and upon the one root hast thou prepared others, and why hast thou scattered thy only one people among many?

29And they which did gainsay thy promises, and believed not thy covenants, have trodden them down.

30If thou didst so much hate thy people, yet shouldest thou punish them with thine own hands.

40Then said he unto me, Like as thou canst do none of these things that I have spoken of, even so canst thou not find out my judgment, or in the end the love that I have promised unto my people.

41And I said, Behold, O Lord, yet art thou nigh unto them that be reserved till the end

Boker Tov Mispacha,
Today's prayer is from Menashshe.
O Yahuah, El Shaddai of our fathers, Avraham, Yitschaq, and Ya`aqov, and of their righteous seed; who have made heaven and earth, with all the ornament thereof; who have bound the sea by the word of your commandment; who have shut up the deep, and sealed it by your terrible and glorious name; whom all men fear and tremble before your power; for the majesty of your glory cannot be borne; and your angry threatening toward sinners importable: But your merciful promise is unmeasureable and unsearchable; for you are El Elyon, of great compassion, longsuffering, very merciful, and repent of the evils of men. You, O Yahuah, according to your great goodness, have promised repentance and forgiveness to them that have sinned against you: And of your infinite mercies have appointed repentance unto sinners that they might be saved. You therefore, O Yahuah, that are the Elohiym of the just, as to Avraham, and Yitschaq, and Ya`aqov, which have not sinned against you; but you have appointed repentance unto me that am a sinner: For I have sinned above the number of the sands of the sea. My transgressions, O Yahuah, are multiplied: My transgressions are multiplied and I am not worthy to behold to see the height of heaven for the multitude of my Torahless deeds. I am bowed down with many iron bands that I cannot lift up my head, neither have any release: For I have provoked your wrath, and done evil before you: I did not do your will, neither kept I your commandments: I have set up abominations and multiplied offences. Now therefore I bow the knee of my heart, beseeching you of grace. I have sinned, O Yahuah, I have sinned and I acknowledge my Torahless ways: Wherefore I humbly beseech, forgive me, O Yahuah, forgive me, and destroy me not with my iniquities. Be not angry with me forever by reserving evil for me; neither condemn me to the lower parts of the earth. For you are the Elohiym, even the Elohiym of them that repent; and in me you will show all your goodness: for you will save me that am unworthy according to your great mercy. Therefore I will praise you forever all the days of my life: for all the powers of the heavens do praise you, and yours is the glory forever and ever. Amein.
