Sometimes, when my nose gets hot I need to:
Recognize that I've become overwhelmed
Politely ask to take a break with a commitment to process and reconvene
Pray for understanding
Pray for new perspective
Pray that Yah exposes what is causing the hiccup in communication. (Where am I needing correction? What might I be misunderstanding? How might I not be seeing the other person's side?)
Sleep on it
Process with Yah
Wait on Yah for instructions of how to handle a matter

PS. I think I would revise the 'avoiding triggers' technique. I read somewhere that avoidance can lead to anxiety. I think it is helpful to be aware of one's triggers and have a ready plan of action should a trigger present itself.

One of my favorite 'go to' websites for all things teaching!
I like the idea of this tool. It's a visual way of helping young children to understand why their body parts might feel 'off' sometimes.
The resource also gives young children practical 'what to do strategies' for managing stressful moments; when they feel off inside.
Cutting and pasting with adult supervision and child safe scissors is a great way to build fine motor skills that will help with physical writing skills development. Cutting and pasting also makes the activity more interactive which helps to increase attention to the task and memory of the activity.
I would definitely add 'Reciting Scriptures' to this list of calming strategies.
I hope you find this tool helpful fam.🙂 Shalom
