Shalom Mishpacha! It’s a been a while! I pray everyone is doing well!
Our Texas family generations go back to slavery. Being born and raised in California, I learned at a young age that food was different when it comes to geography. When visiting the durty south, I became aware that the food had a certain distinct flavor, and comfort feeling to it. Family think about it, when brought to America, we lost EVERYTHING...including our cultural cuisine. Our ancestors had to fend for themselves, and were forced to build a whole style of cooking that today we call soul food. It's a comforting food to the soul, just like the words of the Most High. Praise Yah!
The link below is a list of what Yelp says are the top restaurants in Texas. Not begrudging any of the eateries on this list, and I may patron some of these best to see for myself. But for who and what type of palette was this top list made for? I'm a foodie advocate. Clean food is good medicine. We need a list by us for us. Stay tuned family!
